The Odessa Spire

Riley Industrial recently completed the lead abatement and repainting of the Odessa, Texas Cloth World sign in preparation of transforming it into the Odessa Lighted Spire.

This landmark was originally built as the sign for Rock Hills Springs Shopping Center in the late 1950s. It then became the Cloth World sign in the 1970s. After many years of neglect and rust, the community came together to save this structure and give it new life.

The Cloth World sign has always held sentimental meaning to the Riley family as they were born in Odessa and had strong ties to the community.

Part of their desire to partake in this project was that George, Gary, and Glen's grandparents lived on the same street directly across from the Cloth World sign. It was always in sight as they played when spending time with their now deceased grandparents.

If only they were still here today to see this transformation they surely would be proud of the dedication to preserving part of Odessa's history.
